ADOLESCENT EDUCATION
PROGRAMME (AEP)
Adolescent Education Programme aims to build up life skills of adolescents to cope up with the physical and psychological changes associated with growing up. Under this programme, students of VIII, IX and XI are covered for promotion of life skill education.
AEP started in schools in the UT of Puducherry during the year 2003 and is being implemented in coordination with the State Training Centre (STC), Directorate of School Education, Puducherry.Training of Teachers (ToT) and Peer Students on Life Skill Education, STI /RTI and HIV is being carried out every year in 325 schools.
Adolescence Education Programme started during the year 2004 which is implemented through the Chief Educational Officer/ State Training Centre, Directorate of School Education, Puducherry in co-ordination with Pondicherry AIDS Control Society.
Details of the topics covered during the training programme:
- Life Skill Development,
- Understanding Adolescence,
- HIV/AIDS and STI /RTI, Role of Teachers in Adolescent Education and Questions Box Activity.
- The impact of Drug Abuse and Tobacco control programme in schools
The Training of Teachers under AEP for Govt. School Teachers in Puducherry and Karaikal region on 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 9th March 2022 and for Mahe and Yanam region through online mode on 11/03/2022 was conducted in coordination with State Training Centre (STC), Puducherry.
